The momentum is building and it proves that nurses want to keep our workplace direct and personal. Text three colleagues this link today to ensure the union knows we do not want their interference.

MNA union presence in our hospital would not benefit anyone; not staff, not the hospital and definitely not the patients. I have had past experience being in a union and I am definitely against it.
It will be a sad day for Lowell General Hospital if union representation ever comes to fruition. I have worked at hospitals with union representation and it was a horrific and *expensive* experience in all cases. The 'us' vs. 'them' mentality that unions create degrades collaboration and creates vices across an organization that affects all service lines, not just nursing. When I came to Lowell General I was so excited at the transparency and collaboration with all of the leaders; from charges nurses to Norm! I actually felt that I really had a voice for the first time in my nursing career. As for a union being a 'voice' for nurses, we already have forums to express ourselves. We do not need to pay an expensive corporation that has its own agenda and empty guarantees!
I have worked at two places that went union and the only thing that it succeeded in doing is tearing the place apart. Management at LGH actually care about the staff and show it all the time. Nurses should go and work at a union facility first to see what it is truly like.
I do not want union representation from MNA at Lowell General Hospital! leadership does a wonderful job - no middle men needed to speak for me!!! I have never met such a committed approachable leadership team!
I do not believe by Union is going to fix our problems. They want us to blindly sign so they can make millions of dollars and there is no guarantee that they will even fight for what we need. The union cannot guarantee Staffing ratios.
I am enclosing a letter in part that had sent to Mr. Jody White. I hope all read this. Dear Mr. White, I wish to thank you for coming to the or to speak with the entire group, fortunately I was floated from Saints campus that day and was able to hear what you had to say. I also appreciate that you did take the time afterwards to speak with me one on one so I could relate me feels of the hospital , not only as a nurse, but also as a critically sick and scared patient. I was treated incredible by caregiving staff and managers who helped me in every possible way . My medical bills were also held for an exceptional time period and was allowed a payment plan which I thankfully and religiously pay. I was treated "at a world class hospital, Mass General" and was ignored, berated, and told my life threatening swelling/angioedema was nothing more than anxiety. Lowell General took me very seriously and was asked many times about removal of tonsils, adenoids, and uvula, which Dr. Bie did do last September and I returned to work in the OR ,not at main campus, but at Saints in November, although I still do retain periodic symptoms of the idiopathic angioedema . This is the best move I have made since starting here in the ED 5 years prior. I feel part of a very intimate group that is like a second family to me. I feel closer to my clinical leader and manager along with surgical day care and PACU staff; all who are amazing at their jobs, incredibly pleasant, and provide phenomenal patient care. I feel I learn something new everyday which is amazing. I truly love my job and truly enjoy coming to work often volunteering to come in on weekends/staying late at night for procurements and/or emergency cases to prevent having to transfer to main campus as many of my fellow saints OR employees have as well to prevent patient disruption. I know there are issues employees have in the hospital of under staffing, benefits, inadequate training or preceptor ships, and poor patient

Although things are not perfect currently at LGH. We ARE a Magnet hospital and have been voted for many years as the BEST place to work. WE can all work this out without Union. Administration just needs to re-align their priorities with staffing rather than growth at this time. I do not want union at LGH!
