I have worked at Cunningham Children’s Home for 9 years as a teacher and feel that I have consistently been treated fairly. I am paid a fair wage and understand my rights as a worker. I have never been cohered into doing something I did not feel comfortable with or was above or beyond my job description.
This exercise has brought to light that there is room for improvement within our organization, which could probably be said about most organizations. However, I do know believe that a union is the way to achieve the results that would be best for our clients and staff.
There are better ways of handling the concerns that CCH has with management and the "higher ups." There are plenty that are annoyed, but unionizing isn't the way to go about having our voices being heard. Management needs to stand up and start being transparent with everyone across the board. Let's see some change in that regard, please.
I am against a union forming at Cunningham. I believe that unions do not belong in the ever fluctuating line of work that is health care.
I am signing this petition because I think a union would negatively affect the youth we serve,

I understand what this will do to the financial stability of this non for profit. I would rather see a peer review board or peer committee for all issues to be reviewed or peers to be represented instead of a union. This would be more cost effective and still give employees a voice to be heard without prejudice.
