The school board has officially decided to maintain current bathroom and locker room policies for our students. I appreciate the resolve shown by the 328 people who supported this initiative. We must remain attentive to school district communications to ensure these standards are upheld in the future.

As parents, grandparents and family members of children who attend Dorchester County, MD Public Schools, we do not want the schools to adopt the policy of Transgender bathrooms and/or locker rooms for students. We feel as though it is an infringement of our our rights as parents to be able to send our children to public schools and be insured of their privacy and safety when using school restrooms and locker rooms. There should be Transgender facilities available for those who would like to use it, however, we do not believe that children of either sex should be using restroom and locker rooms together in public schools.

I respectfully request the rights of Non-LGBT student (who are the majority) be honored and respected. "All... being equally free, no one has a right to say what shall be law for the others. Our way is to put these questions to the vote, and to consider that as law for which the majority votes." --Thomas Jefferson: Address to the Cherokee Nation, 1809. ME 16:456

As a student of Dorchester county schools I would not feel safe with students originally of the other sex using the same bathroom and locker rooms as me.

As someone who attended Dorchester County Schools and looks to send my own children to the same schools I attended, I say no to transgender bathrooms and locker rooms. It infringes not only on my rights, but the safety of children. And opens a door through which more sexual harassment and abuse can occur.

Of course it comes with a cost, but a separate bathroom similar to Retail Stores that offer a "family" restroom, would be ideal. It's a single restroom, open to WHOMEVER wants to use it.

This should be the last thing children need to think about as they pursue an education, and definitely the last thing parents should have to worry about as we send our children to school. If there is concern for the transgender children/adults, a third bathroom should be implemented. Male/Female/Trans

Please do not allow transgender bathrooms in Dorchester County public schools. This will cause many problems, potentially long lasting psychological problems for students who feel violated by the opposite sex using the bathroom or changing/showering next to them.

Children should use the bathroom that matches their identity.
