Rejected by Cupertino, San Jose, Palo Alto, and Los Altos, wireless carriers are finding the city door wide open in Saratoga. There are 7 new wireless cell towers proposals by Verizon in Saratoga this year already.
- Three on Prospect Road (City Council hearing on 8/19)
- One next to Saratoga High School (City Council hearing on 9/16)
- Three in South Saratoga
And more will come into our neighborhood. The next one could be on your street, next to your backyard, and on top of your school playground.
They also come with power generators and large fuel tanks, introducing substantial safety hazards to our neighborhood.
We, as Saratoga residents, have to stand together and do something, to protect our beautiful natural environment, our kids, our health and our property value. We propose to amend the city wireless tower ordinance to require a 300 foot setback from homes and schools.

The city is hearing from us but we need to keep the pressure on before these hearings start. Send an email to the City Council members today to demand a 300 foot setback for all new towers. Text three neighbors this link so they know about the risks to our schools and backyards.

My house is close to prospect rd. I strongly believe that cell phone tower is harmful to ANY living beings.
We absolutely do not want a cell tower near SHS. This is too close to children and we do not want them exposed to this radiation.
No cell towers in residential area. It ruins the neighborhood's looks and its appeal.
The proposed cell towers are hazard to health of the community and neighbors and children in school and kinder garden. The sole driver of the applicant is financial that should be of 2nd priority over quality of life in the city of Saratoga.
Instead, put the tower on the corner of Blaney and Bollinger in the strip mall etcetera, i.e. consider perimeters of shopping centers instead of homes and schools.

Being an engineer I know how harmful a cell phone tower within close proximity to residential areas can be. Please DO NOT approve this.
