PISD finally backed down and restored five days of in-person learning for our high schoolers. They stopped ignoring parents and realized that two days of instruction was an absolute failure for our kids. Keep watching them closely because we will not let them try this pathetic hybrid model again.

Final supporters
We as Plano parents and Plano citizens do not want the extension of the Forced Hybrid Model for grades 9-12 Extension. Two days a week is not an adequate education. 40 percent learning model with no end date is not helping our students. That’s a 60 percent decrease in teaching for the students. This will not help them be successful in their high school career. It is harming the mental and educational health of the students. PISD did not give parents the choice. PISD did not give equal consideration the the 9-12 grade students who chose the face to face option. PISD is not giving equal access and equal education. It is a mandated decision with no end date! Our students in 9-12 grade have a right to 5 days a week education. Parents were not given a choice, a seat at the table, a warning. Put the educational needs of the students first and allow the students the choice they made for 5 days a week face to face education with teachers. The neighboring school districts are open for high school students who chose face to face. Plano took that choice away. End the forced hybrid model and allow the students to receive 5 days a week teacher instruction.

PISD is stalling while our kids lose out on critical instruction time. We need to hit that hundred mark right now to show the board that we are not backing down until full-time schooling returns.

My son is a senior preparing for college. He feels he’s not getting adequate instruction through this hybrid schedule. He’s asking to go back 5 days a week.
Surrounding district high schools are back at school full time. My kid is having to teach herself geometry and chemistry. It’s time to go back to normal.
My child is suffering! These kids need to have the option to attend school 5 days a week! She is not getting the education she deserves, the education she is promised, and the education I pay for! High school students need equal education and equal access!
I would like point out that Frisco, Mckinney, Allen, Prosper, Wylie, and Highland Park are allowing five days a week, face to face teaching for students.
The hybrid model is BS. My daughter doesn’t get any lecturing at all during in person with the exception of her Dual Credit Econ Class. The rest just point the kids back to google classroom - so what’s even the point? She said there is very little if any talking in class.
I want school to be 5 days a week.
Stop hurting our children’s education and mental health... let those of us who want face to face 5 days a week have a choice!!!

I have 3 high school kids & this hybrid is not enough for them. The students need 5 days face to face classroom instruction. My kids are excellent students but with this hybrid they are failing classes /have been counted absent an over whelming amount of times but are not really absent! & have never been failing students before this hybrid started.
