NO to Hybrid High School for Plano Students

I want school to be 5 days a week.

Stop hurting our children’s education and mental health... let those of us who want face to face 5 days a week have a choice!!!

Mine’s teaching herself Precalc and Anatomy & Physiology.... I feel your pain! We need to get them back to in person learning.

Get the students back to school immediately, face to face, 5 days a week. Stop the educational regression. I called the PISD offices and was told everything they are doing is for the health of students and teachers. 52 out of 52,000 students tested positive, 51,948 students did not.

The hybrid model is BS. My daughter doesn’t get any lecturing at all during in person with the exception of her Dual Credit Econ Class. The rest just point the kids back to google classroom - so what’s even the point? She said there is very little if any talking in class.

I would also add in no particular order: 1. When asked if we wanted our student to attend f2f or virtual, a resounding 75% of PISD families opted for f2f. 2. Students have found ways around the separation, for example meeting for lunch in the actual cafeteria even when it’s not their day to be on campus, studying together, etc. 3. It is bad optics to see PWSH Administrative Staff, coaches, and other staff eating lunch at Newks during the week, (something I saw) while my child is home “learning” on a laptop in her bedroom. 4. At last check, 52 PISD were COVID positive, which is 1/10 of 1%of ALL PISD students. So, are you waiting for 0%? Because that will never be the case. 5. EVERY school district near us has a 5 day a week f2f option. Those students are at an advantage for everything life has to offer going forward, starting with meeting the rigor of the college acceptance process and being prepared for the rigor of college curriculum, meanwhile PISD HS students are falling behind. I’m told many HS students are staying home because it’s “easier”, not because they are worried about contracting COVID. 6. PISD-give the option of 5 days f2f next semester, it’s the right thing to do.

At a minimum PISD should offer synchronous. Asynchronous serves zero legitimate purpose.

Yes we need a timeline! There are currently 27 student cases out of 50K students. The ratio is ridiculous to keep this 2 day a week charade from going on.

Open PISD Face to Face teaching full time with teacher teaching I. Person not across line. CDC data supports opening schools. Covid -19 Survival Rate Age 0-19. 99.997 percent Age 30-49 99.98 percent Age 50-69. 99.5 percent

Bring back face-to-face full-time

Hybrid is not working for my 10th grader. She needs to be in class 5 times per week.

PISD is showing the same disregard to Plano residents as the council did on the “Plano Tomorrow” plan. Talk with your Plano families and don’t hide behind loopholes. You represent the city schools - don’t ignore your citizens concerns.

My son is a senior preparing for college. He feels he’s not getting adequate instruction through this hybrid schedule. He’s asking to go back 5 days a week.

2 days versus 5 days doesn’t change exposure... if a parent chooses to send their kid they should be getting the intended benefits of school the entire time. Don’t make parents choose risk for zero reward.

These kids need to go to normal school.. Stop this nonsense and lets get our lives going again....

These kids NEED structure and to be able to work with teachers EVERY DAY!!! We are failing these kids by not giving them the education they need!!

5 days a week all kids who want to be face to face is the best option

PISD — Get over your fears, manage the reality, and get our kids back in school five days a week.
