This petition serves to make it known that those in the Pleasant Manor Estates and surrounding communities DO NOT wish to allow a through road to be built into the neighborhood.
1. The possibility of a through road was never disclosed to anyone during the buying process. Instead buyers were told a 10 acre green buffer would ALWAYS surround the neighborhood.
2. Those living in Pleasant Manor Estates enjoy the quietness and lack of traffic a single entry/exit provides.
3. Those living in Pleasant Manor Estates are concerned connecting a through road to a large neighborhood with smaller homes would negatively effect home values.
Again the signatures on this petition are completely against any through road being connected to Pleasant Manor Estates.

I have spent my evenings reading the stories you all have shared about why this peace and quiet matters to your families. My porch light stays on while I draft letters to the planning board because this neighborhood is where we chose to put down our roots. We are preparing to present these concerns directly to the developers who ignored their original promises to us.

Seeing this much support confirms that my neighbors feel the same betrayal I do about the broken promises regarding our green buffer. It is clear that the peace of our home is not something we are willing to trade away for a shortcut.

I live right next door to the proposed connecting road, and have repeatedly been told by DR Horton reps that a home will be built on that lot. Please hold them to their word!
I oppose this road as it was not disclosed to residents upon purchase. We bought understanding that 88 homes would be built surrounded by green space.
I am concerned about the possibility of a through road. I was sold my house that this neighborhood would have 88 homes and a tree buffer surrounding the outside property line. I would have never considered purchasing my home in the location it is with the potential of it to be a thoroughfare for 200+ homes. We have also already had some incidents of vandalism of cars, pool and other things that I fear could get worse with an increase in traffic. I am concerned about more traffic, speeding and I feel there has been some misrepresentation that has taken place.
The day we drove through the neighborhood, in January, we fell in love; primarily due to the quietness and seclusion from the hustle and bustle of the main roads. Two days later, we started building our home. We just moved in about a month ago and still love the neighborhood. However, it did come to us as a disappointing surprise that there was a plan to basically ruin one of the main reasons why we decided on Pleasant Manor. Please take into consideration how this will adversely impact not only mine, but so many other families that have been at Pleasant Manor much longer.
This neighborhood was not setup financially to support the security and surveillance that would be required in having an adjoining neighborhood. Residents are allowed in common areas. There is no funding to support any patrol of such places to ensure non-residential use of common areas, etc. The overall devaluation of homes that would occur as a result of connecting the two neighborhoods would be detrimental. With 1/4 to 1/8 acre lots....an estimated value between high 2 to low 300k would be a 100-180k averaging reduction in 88 homes....which would be exponential and completely adverse to what growth should happen in this area.
Please keep this neighborhood as pretty as it is. Keep it looking as beautiful as the rest of Georgia and the surrounding area. Please No road and further housing development. Thank you
No road!

Safety of our neighborhood is my #1 concern. A through road will increase traffic, not only from a connecting neighborhood, but from other neighborhoods off of Holbrook Rd as well. We moved to Cumming for the quiet and nature, and we picked Pleasant Manor because it is a small neighborhood with lots of green space, and woods and a creek behind our house. We live a few houses down from the lots where the through road is being considered. It will be a shame to knock the forest down, build a bridge over the creek, and ruin the reason we picked this neighborhood. My family and I vote NO to the through road!
