We the undersigned Hayward residents want the ridiculous, redundant new Stop signs removed from the roundabout on Fairview at Woodstock. We want the Yield signs re-installed. A few irate people should not be allowed to ruin this safe, attractive, modern, traffic management feature that Hayward has been rolling out over the past few years!

The city bureaucrats are still hiding behind their desks while traffic piles up at Fairview and Woodstock. I have been calling their offices daily to demand an explanation for why they chose to break a perfectly functional roundabout. We are not going away until they pull those ridiculous stop signs down.

The momentum behind this campaign proves that Hayward residents are fed up with the city council ruining our roads to appease a loud minority. It is time for the officials to stop ignoring us and tear down those absurd stop signs.

It makes no sense to add these back after installing a round about. Post a couple of traffic police at the roundabout to educate those that do not use them correctly. Instead of going through the expense of adding stop signs and aggravating residents.
NO STOP SIGNS AT ROUND ABOUTS. I am not affected by this particular round about, however, I drive through the Orchard/Joyce fiasco everyday. During commute times, the poor souls on Joyce might need to shave again by the time someone correctly yields to them. I am fearful that this mentality will be used to "dumb down" other round abouts in our community. USE TAXPAYER MONEY TO EDUCATE DRIVERS ON NEW OR UNFAMILIAR TRAFFIC CONTROL DESIGNS. Educate first, then ticket - people will soon get it!
Stop signs are inappropriate and create an inconsistency within Hayward and the State of California. Traffic features should be the same everywhere; roundabouts should have yield signs; its part of the definition of a roundabout!
Stop signs at roundabouts are unnecessary and dangerous as people do not expect them. Yield signs are what should be used.
The stop signs coupled with a poorly designed roundabout are a hazard and not a safety measure. Pick one : either stop signs or the roundabout
The whole point of roundabouts is not having to stop but to slow down and yield to traffic in already in the roundabout. Roundabouts don’t have stop signs! Please remove them!

The stop signs should be removed. Many people got tickets for not stopping completely and cops can not even see clearly because of obstruction and yet give tickets for violation. The whole situation is very bad.
