The stop signs should be removed. Many people got tickets for not stopping completely and cops can not even see clearly because of obstruction and yet give tickets for violation. The whole situation is very bad.

The whole point of roundabouts is not having to stop but to slow down and yield to traffic in already in the roundabout. Roundabouts don’t have stop signs! Please remove them!

The STOP signs should be removed immediately *and* people that had been issued a ticket for not stopping should be refunded their money. (Note: I have NOT been issued a ticket myself).
Starting before 70's and ending the transition in the 90's, many parts of Europe started replacing ALL the intersections and traffic lights with roundabouts. The result not only is less accidents, but also lower operating costs (a traffic light system is quite expensive to install and maintain and requires constant energy) but more important, allows for traffic to flow much more consistently. I think it's about time for our city to catch up with modern road and traffic solutions, but not to be ruined and made ineffective by an incredible mix of stop sign and a roundabout.

Please remove the stop signs at the roundabout on Fairview Ave and Woodstock. It is causing more confusion for drivers.

Holly Drouillard, the roundabout isn't "ridiculous". In California, they reduce traffic accidents by 75%, they are attractive and modern, and in this quiet intersection, they allow cars to pass through without stopping, saving everyone time during commute hours in the morning and evening.

It makes no sense to add these back after installing a round about. Post a couple of traffic police at the roundabout to educate those that do not use them correctly. Instead of going through the expense of adding stop signs and aggravating residents.

Why would the city go through the expense of putting in a roundabout just to add stop signs later? This is ridiculous! If you want the stop signs then remove the ridiculous round about!

Stop signs have no purpose on a roundabout. The reason is to keep traffic moving. Such a waste of taxpayer funds to install a roundabout ant then try to make it a three way stop intersection.

I completely agree. If you are going to have a roundabout (which is my preference) then you shouldn't have stop signs.

This new configuration of traffic controls at the intersection of Fairview and Woodstock introduces unclear right of way and is more dangerous than either a three way stop, or a traffic circle alone.
The problem is that traffic circles and three way stops have completely different and potentially contradictory rules for right of way.
This is like putting both a stop sign and a signal light at an intersection. It is not clear which rules to follow.
Having such a configuration puts drivers at unnecessary risk of accident, injury, and bodily harm.
The stop signs should be removed before they cause an accident.

I have driven through traffic stops all of the world and this is the only one I have ever come across with a stop sign. This is ridiculous. It is not working. People still aren’t following the CVC’s.

NO STOP SIGNS AT ROUND ABOUTS. I am not affected by this particular round about, however, I drive through the Orchard/Joyce fiasco everyday. During commute times, the poor souls on Joyce might need to shave again by the time someone correctly yields to them. I am fearful that this mentality will be used to "dumb down" other round abouts in our community. USE TAXPAYER MONEY TO EDUCATE DRIVERS ON NEW OR UNFAMILIAR TRAFFIC CONTROL DESIGNS. Educate first, then ticket - people will soon get it!
