It is a disgrace to our leaders, that they would even consider any viable community. There is a whole, open, West Desert that would be perfect. Since the depot has shut down and the army taken it over, I can't think of a better location!
Do NOT move the prison to Saratoga Springs. It doesn't make any sense and there is so much potential for growth and development because it is such a nice area! A prison would destroy property values and the wonderful community that is growing
Please don't ruin my children's future by compromising their sense of security. My daughter in the 6th grade is coming home all the time talking about this issue and is scared. NO Prison in Saratoga springs/Eagle Mountain.
Why remove an eyesore, just to relocate it to another location? Follow the dollar! The state can come to our backyard to buy land cheap, and then sell their high market valued location and make big profits selling the old prison area to buisness and retail.
Agree! Unfortunately there is a high demand for commercial property to go where the current prison is. And the state rep that is really pushing the relocation is also a developer -- a conflict of interest to me.
Just don't do it.
Do not ruin one the wonderful feel of a small town by placing a prison near it. I am moving here to get a way from that big city feel and to feel safer in a smaller, cleaner town. If you move it here you are going to destroy the potentials for an amazing upcoming neighborhood. Don;'t let your greed for money out weigh your responsibility to listen to and represent the people. We don't want it moved, so don't move it. Rebuild where it is.

I recently purchased a home in this area, and had I known this was going on I wouldn't have. I am not alone in those feelings. Putting a prison in either Eagle Mountain or Saratoga Springs will kill the growth in the community and it is a farce to state otherwise.
