R&R Harvesting property owner at 7800 CR 78 would like to rezone their property from AG-2 to Planned Unit Development (PUD) to allow for mining. They anticipate bringing another approx 150 dump trucks a day on a two lane, ill maintained county road. This will be a major safety hazard for our children at morning bus stops (project is located directly between two unlit bus stops) as well as for any person traveling down CR 78. The road will be destroyed along with the communities rural way of living. Please help us STOP the mine!
This mining operation is located in a rural residential area on a two lane road unequipped to handle this kind of heavy traffic. The entrance is between 2 school bus stops. More importantly, the entire area is a panther habitat. They’ve been operating under the radar for 2 years without a permit. Sneaky!

We do not need anymore dump trucks on 78. I’ve been ran off the road twice and my daughter got ran off the road. Our road cannot handle all of the weight. It’s already a terrible road.
We moved here to be away from all the traffic and be in peace. This is our home we don’t need a mine herr

This is a good common sense petition. Clarification: last night (9/11/24) county engineer agreed that the mine will add 400 dump truck trips PER DAY to the CR 78 traffic. That is a massive hit to the CR 78 community, Alva, and LaBelle. Stay strong.

My 17 year old daughter drives that road everyday, I am scare for her safety. Dump truck drives have a proven record of driving and speeding in this area, put 40O loads a day on the road and you will be turning a rural area into a death trap.
