the commission denied the zone change so main street stays residential. thank you to everyone who stuck with this because we really did it. ill be keeping an eye on the town records just in case but for now we won.

As a resident of East Hampton, Connecticut, in regard to the application of Atlantis Marketing for a change from R-2 (residential) to C (commercial) zone for property located at 157 Main St, 1 Colchester Ave and 5 Colchester Ave, I hereby protest the approval of such a zone change.

I just purchased a home in town in part because of this very area and small town feel
Atlantis Marketing has NO regard for the small-town rural atmosphere East Hampton residents value (Plan of Conservation and Development). This conglomerate has taken over several businesses on Rt 66 and will expand into any neighborhood that will allow it. It is time to push them back….and out!
With a mega station on rt66 and another going in on the corner of 16 and 66, with the new station at Main St and 196, I see no reason to create a mega station as the lead into the center of town.
The proposed zone change in a purely residential and historic neighborhood is grossly inappropriate. It should be rejected by the zoning commission just as it was six months ago.
Atlantis Marketing is ONCE AGAIN trying to flip 3 residentially zoned properties to commercial. They are able to hold onto these properties because they are a multi-billion dollar company. They don’t care about East Hampton. They don’t care about our residentially zoned neighborhood. If they did, they would have listened to us the first time. They care only about their bottom dollar. We need to stop them once again, and this time, we need to stop them permanently.
I am firmly opposed to this change in zoning.

NO ZONE CHANGE! This area of Main Street is zoned residential for a reason. It is not in the plan of development and conservation that this be an area of commercial use. Stick to the plan! Stop making residents fight for their property value and neighborhood safety.
