The school committee is still deliberating on the modular classroom proposal and we need to keep the pressure on our Town Meeting members. Please email your representative today to demand they vote to fund these classrooms instead of forcing a lottery on our families. Keep the pressure up until these seats are guaranteed for every single child.

The momentum behind this petition proves that families are done with the threat of a lottery for our kindergarteners. Now we need to turn this energy into action by emailing your local Town Meeting members immediately to demand they approve the modular classroom funding.

With all the recent residential construction occurring, the town should have seen this coming and prepared appropriately.
This really isn't optional; there's nowhere to place our students in our schools. This is a critical need.
I support modular classrooms as a way to remedy the need for space at our kindergartens.
I am in support of this, but it is very much a short term, inexpensive solution to a much bigger problem. I urge anyone/everyone who is concerned about the future of our schools & our town to run for town meeting and be part of the legislative process.
I strongly support modular classrooms at Eaton, Barrows, and Killam as the only equitable and cost-effective solution for the space issues at these schools. Like our School Committee, I am opposed to any solutions that route kindergarten students to middle school, which is a logistical and educational disadvantage to both the K students and the middle schoolers.
The superintendent sent out an updated timeline for the decision this morning. If you care about this issue, please try to attend the meetings on 1/21 and 2/23. January 21st 7:30PM Senior Center: Financial Committee and Board of Selectman vote to bring proposal for Town Meeting February 23rd Special Town Meeting: Vote to decide on modular classrooms February 24th: Lottery if no vote March 1st: Parents notified of the decision

the town really needs to band together to help these working families out. I only need half day next year but know many families that would have to quit their job if they could not have full day. This is not fair.
