This petition is to request that the Austin City Council immediately annex the property at 6315 Spicewood Springs Rd. The property is on Bull Creek, an environmentally fragile area. As citizens, we demand that this area be protected from overdevelopment. We stand against the building of a hotel on that property. We are further requesting that the County stop the proposed hotel development approval for that site, until the City can make an annexation assessment and evaluate impact on traffic by doing a traffic study

Seeing one thousand signatures on this petition is overwhelming because it proves how many of you value the life of Bull Creek. I grew up playing in these waters and knowing you care about saving this land from a hotel development gives me so much hope.

Seeing this much support for our creek gives me so much hope that we can actually protect this land. I am genuinely moved by how many of you recognize that this spot is worth fighting for.

Seeing one hundred people recognize the danger this project poses to Bull Creek gives me so much hope. Growing up near these springs, I never imagined I would have to fight so hard just to keep the water clean and the land safe.

My biggest question is about Spicewood Springs road itself. How can a business plant itself between two high water crossings? We regularly have the road (would be only access to the hotel) closed! Will they also require major changes to the road?
I find it absolutely unbelievable that a 12 storey hotel would even be considered in an environmentally sensitive area. Also, it will make property values go lower in this area and will make the traffic even more unbearable. Sincerely SJ
Traffic is already too congested on Spicewood Springs Rd. and it closes during heavy rains and that would force traffic through the neighborhood which it is not made to deal with. Please look for another location perhaps on 360/Capital of Texas Hwy.
I support the city's annexation of this land and oppose this commercial development on the environmentally sensitive property. Development of this size is inappropriate for a residential area and for the small road and bridges required to access it.
I join with neighbors in our Great Hills community in standing against this development due to potential environmental harm and further complicating already limited traffic access to our residential neighborhood. Respectfully, Gary Morgan.
Please don’t ruin the Devine nature of this city anymore with buildings.
This would be a traffic and ecological disaster. Please do not allow it.

I am very opposed to this totally unneeded hotel, which will only bring further traffic congestion to the already narrow & winding street and the jammed 360 intersection. While I do believe in private property rights, clearly the greater good must prevail.
