MA DOT has designed the Arborway access road that currently runs from the Courthouse to Shea circle as a PARKING LOT for 50-70 cars from the Courthouse. They are building a 7 lane highway and created a mall style parking lot in the area mentioned, removing all trees and creating a huge 48 foot wide stretch of asphalt on the doorstep of 200 condos at Arborway Gardens and destroying part of our beautiful green Emerald necklace. We, ab-butters, neighbors, users and residents of Jamaica Plain DEMAND that MA DOT and the designers of Casey Overpass replacement surface road live up to their pledge to pedestrians, cyclists and residents to honor livability and the community desires and leave the access road. We demand MA DOT put any proposed parking for the West Roxbury Courthouse in the Arborway Yards as requested by our community or eliminate it all together. WE SAY NO COURTHOUSE PARKING LOT ON OUR ARBORWAY! SAVE OUR TREES!
