The Village Board rejected the proposal for the bus depot at our entrance. I am currently reviewing the official meeting minutes to confirm all conditions of the denial. We will continue monitoring the site to ensure full compliance with current zoning regulations.

Final supporters
This petition is to let the Village of New Lenox and Providence High School know, the residents of Cherry Hill subdivision do NOT want a bus depot in our neighborhood.
The Village Planning commission has recommended approval to allow Providence to setup a Bus Depot at the entrance of Cherry Hill Subdivision via Ferro Road. This will go before the Mayor and Trustees on Feb 13, 2017, 7pm during the Village Board meeting. We need to let them know we oppose this re-zoning. We all need to attend the meeting to Voice and be heard on this issue. At the Planning commission meeting only 4 households attended. Now is our time to ask the questions what will happen to our subdivision. What will happen to our property values? What EPA testing has been done? How will the buses and semi tankers bringing gas to the depot, be handled in our entrance to our subdivision? Etc…..
Providence wants to park their 14+ buses at the corner of Gouger and Ferro Rd. They will access the depot from Ferro Rd. They want to install a "Modspace" office building on wheels and install a 2,500 gallon (6' x 15') above ground fuel tank.

I have spent the week formalizing a list of concerns regarding the fuel tank placement and traffic flow for the Mayor and Village Trustees. Legal counsel is now reviewing the zoning history of the Ferro Road entrance to determine our specific grounds for formal objection.

There are two empty lots across the street in the industrial park, build it there. It was nice to see the HS turn that area into something green but now I feel this a bit of a bait and switch. What now, that area will not be used to host cross country meets or football practice?
HUGE safety concerns in and out of this subdivision, which already has safety issues. Living less than 1,000 feet from a 2,500 gallon fuel tank? Seems like very irresponsible planning on many many levels.
That is not proper use of the space considering homes are so close by. That property should be used for football practice and sports related events. Bus parking should remain on providence main school property.
I don't want fumes in my yard. I have small kids that don't need to be breathing that in. They also don't need to be woken up with the noise early in the morning.
Traffic is bad enough at Ferro and Gougar! There are industrial areas all around there that they can put their bus parking lot. The gas tank will be right on top of residential houses that are already patient with the traffic Providence brings to the area.
There should not be a big tank of fuel near a subdivision or students cross country trail!
There is plenty of industrial property that the school can purchase near by!!

This is a horrible idea and would kill property values. We bought our house on Ferro 5 years ago and I know I never would've bought on a block that had a bus depot on it back then. Not to mention the traffic back up on Ferro with 14 buses lined up. This is ridiculous.
