The Mossel Bay Municipality backed down and scrapped the plans for those monstrosities in our village. We forced them to respect our heritage instead of turning our home into a billboard wasteland. Keep your eyes peeled because we are watching to ensure no other garbage projects get greenlit.

Great Brak residents …. Is this what you would like to see in our Village?
Similar billboards measuring up to 40 Square Meter (4 x 10m) in size are being planned for three sites in and around Great Brak River by the Municipality of Mossel Bay which could detract seriously from the character of our Village. The time to object is NOW, not tomorrow when it is too late, but NOW!
The Sites are Corner of Long and Sandhoogte street, Station road and on the N2 in the vicinity of De Dekke
The Billboards are visual pollution and uncalled for in this picturesque village of ours! The town is about its heritage and natural beauty, such as the river and mountains surrounding it. Also, the beauty is in the small scale of the village environment, which will be negatively affected by these structures As illustrated below.

The Mossel Bay Municipality clearly underestimated the resolve of this community. This momentum proves that we will not let them destroy the character of our village with their disgusting visual pollution.

We live in a wonderful small village of great historical and cultural beauty. Billboards belong in cities in Gauteng not here. Surely Mossel Bay Municipality is not that short of funds that they put money before heritage
We are trying to promote great brak river as an artist’s haven and this would defeat the object . Rather use voorbaai for billboards
Billboards would be one of the leadt effective ways to promote the town. There are numerous other better and less costly and intrusive ways to promote tourism and business.
Billboards will definitely spoil the charm of Grootbrak. Don’t kill the golden goose. If you are considering it, you have absolutely no idea what a delightful village you are privileged to live in. That we could all be so fortunate

Ag nee asseblief! Hoekom Grootbrak? Julle is besig om die hele "village" karakter van ons plekkie op te mors. Asof die aaklige karakterlose beeld voor die polisiestasie en die swak ontwerpte pad " verbetering" nie reeds n groot genoeg gemors is nie. Ons is bitter ongelukkig met die munisipaliteit se ondeurdagte gevoeter met ons dorpie.
