Final supporters
Redeemed Farms is applying for an Interim Use Permit. This will allow them to become an event center and hold Weddings, Church Services and other events on their property. The property is located at the intersection of Hwy 97 and Meadowbrook. If approved, there will be a 100 car parking lot. Up to 300 guests would be permitted. Clearly a 100 car parking lot will not be enough. There is no parking along Meadowbrook, there is hardly enough room for 2 cars to pass at the same time.
If passed there will be amplified sound during the ceremonies. Which could be very long.
If passed, there will be alcohol at the events.
If passed, 100+ cars will travel 97 turning onto Meadowbrook within a 30 minute time frame. This could be at any time during the day. When our children are arriving home from school on buses.
We are a rural community, the intersection of 97 and Meadowbrook is not ready for 100+ cars turning within a 30 minute time frame.
Please sign the petition and help us show the Scandia Planning Committion and City Council that the Scandia Residents do not support a large event center off the main highway!

Please deny. My entire family lives on Meadow Brook. I have EVERYTHING to lose. Please let common sense prevail.

The unanimity of opposition to this use is a good indication of its incompatibility. It is not a true interim use, but rather akin to a bar/restaurant and full service event center, masquerading as a farm. It is not an accessory use that is intended to supplement farm income until future redevelopment. It hurts rather than assists our community;s orderly and appropriate development and is far out of character with our comprehensive plan.
