As many of you know, NIH allocates out a mere 1% of their budget to stroke research. This research is not solely for pediatric stroke, but adults, too. Many of us have gone to the Hill to request an increase in NIH funding.
It is now time we go straight to the source and request an increase in funding for pediatric stroke research.
At this point in time, there is NOTHING FDA approved for a child that has a stroke. Only thing a physician truly can do is administer oxygen to help minimize brain damage. It is imperative that we get the word out that pediatric stroke research is critical.
Research can lead to cures, and ways to minimize effects of a stroke ere go decreasing long term government funding for care.
Please join Pediatric Stroke Network as we move forward to petition NIH to increase their funding for pediatric stroke research.

1% is honestly pathetic. these kids deserve a fighting chance and proper medicine instead of just oxygen. do better NIH.
THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. kids have their whole lives ahead of them. fund the research immediately.
My nephew had a stroke when he was only 6. It is heartbreaking to see what these kids go through with zero options for treatment. Fix this.
way too many kids are suffering. we need real answers for the doctors. so much money goes to waste elsewhere but not here? cmon.
My daughter is a survivor and the lack of research is honestly scary. we feel left behind.
