Petition to remove the mandatory uniform checks by newark charter school.
At the high school, a new policy has been instated. There are now mandatory 10 minute uniform checks every day, and if your uniform is in violation, you can get a demerit. This was apparently instated because there are multiple students not following the dress code. As a matter of fact, the dress code has not been an issue, and the vast majority of the students follow it. Also, the policy was instated with no student voice. The administration just applied it without any student approval.

Seeing this kind of momentum confirms that I am not the only one exhausted by these daily inspections. It has been a grind lately but knowing so many others see this policy for what it is keeps me going.

@Ben Caruccio Yes I witnessed the recess thing happen and it was quite ridiculous but honestly don't blame Mr. Flowers he's pretty cool and he's just doing his job. He didn't make the rules, he's just enforcing them because that is his job. If blame needs to be placed then it shouldn't be placed on Flowers - think about it.
It's essentially the school trying to show the 9th and 10th graders how much "power" they have
10 minutes every day is a total joke. thats like an hour of class time lost every week just so they can stare at our shirts. fix the priorities already.
You're right. Sorry. I was just really mad at how much stricter the school got in a day. I just have to say, as much as I wish it wasn't as strict, I know that it's really immature to be complaining about it. I agree with the comment below me, (even though he said it in a very rude way). Rules are rules and really we need to accept that and stop complaining about it.

You know by saying "don't blame it on Flowers" I didn't mean that there should be no blame whatsoever I mean you're right this new rule is not fair. However, yes, complaining isn't worth the time. We can just sign it and be done without the extra comments.
