We, the undersigned call on New SBM

to give us the support by giving us, the traders a 40% discount on rent for those who will pay rent in advance until February 2022.

This support encompasses a rent payable by way of 40% discount for those businesses who were forced to close by the government due to national lockdown.

It is our belief that New Shepherd's Bush Market faces imminent collapse due to many of the businesses being unable to meet their commitments as a result of extremely challenging trading conditions brought about by the pandemic.

Further to this, it is our belief that New Shepherd's Bush Market is an important part of the community within Shepherd's Bush and beyond. It provides more than just shopping opportunities, it is a meeting place, a social hub and, we believe, represents 'the heart' of the town and as such should and must not be allowed to fail.

The support offered to the New Shepherd's Bush Market, traders fell short of what was offered to many other markets including Shepherd's Bush Market. (who received rent free to cover the lockdown period) while we, the traders in New SBM, received only a partial reduction in our rent that consisted of a 20% discount on rent for the entire year.

All that we now ask is that this partial reduction of 20% is to be increased to a 40% discount off our rent to continue until February 2022.

It is our belief that this would allow the businesses in the Market to be able to continue to trade seamlessly after the pandemic.

If New SBM Enterprise fail to support the traders, New Shepherd’s Bush Market may cease to exist.
