The changing facilities at East Lodge Lane were built in the 1970s and are desperately in need of refurbishing and upgrading. The club is looking to obtain support from the local community to acquire funding for a project to refurbish and extend the existing structure and, in doing so, create segregated male and female changing and showering facilities. This will enable Botany Bay CC and Cuffley Rugby Club, who share our facilities, to progress plans to develop girls' sport and provide more sporting opportunities to a greater number of people in the local community. I spent the morning down at the club watching the junior teams struggle with the current cramped conditions and it only reminds me why we started this fight in the first place. Conversations with the local council are finally underway behind the scenes to address these outdated facilities. We are committed to securing this space for the next generation of players.

Seeing this level of support for our clubhouse improvements is deeply moving because I remember how difficult it was for my own daughter to find decent facilities when she started playing. This momentum shows that our community cares about keeping women and girls in sports for the long haul.

My cricket club hire the second pitch at Botany Bay and make use of the (ancient) changing facilities. Much needed improvements will help the development of our Club as well.
This is a must happen project to improve what are very out dated facilities from the 70's and totally inappropriate for the 21st century sporting activities for male and female participants.
Last summer the girls' cricket taster sessions were very successful and it would be great to have separate female changing facilities to help promote increased numbers of girls enjoying the sport.
I strongly support this initiative having been with the club for almost 25 years. The changing facilities are long overdue an upgrade.
I'm Chairman and head coach at Cuffley RUFC based at Botany Bay , we have increased our membership since our move to BBCC we have also started a ladies section with numbers growing within the club particuly with the ladies we are desperate for more changing facility's .
These improvements will make a huge impact and definitely encourage more people(particularly girls/women) to get involved in local sport
I am all in favour of facilities which will encourage more women and girls to participate in cricket and rugby at Botany Bay

This is a widely used facility but the standard of changing facilities is poor considering the standard of the cricket they are playing. The addition of Cuffley Rugby Club has put added pressure on to the need for better facilities. The Club also wished to promote more girls participation in sport but the existing changing facilities are not conducive to this.
