The HZRPC finally folded and agreed to fund the 90 foot diamond at Hereford Middle School. Our persistence forced them to acknowledge that our kids deserve a proper field right here in their own community. Keep an eye on the construction site because we are going to make sure they …

We, the undersigned residents of the Hereford Zone, strongly support the proposed 90’ baseball diamond proposed for Hereford Middle School. We believe this new diamond is necessary to provide current and future children of this area with a full and fair opportunity to play competitive baseball with their friends and classmates, and without having to leave the area to play in another program. We urge HZRPC to support and commit appropriate funds to the new diamond.

We just hit 250 signatures and the HZRPC cannot ignore us for much longer. They keep dragging their feet on this diamond while our kids are forced to travel elsewhere to play. Let's keep the pressure on these bureaucrats until they finally find the money.

April 11, 2016

We hit one hundred signatures today. The HZRPC has been stalling on this project for too long while our kids pay the price. It is time for them to quit the excuses and fund the baseball diamond now.

The HZRPC is still dragging their feet while our kids miss out on a proper field. We are about to hit 250 signatures so push this link to everyone you know right now to force their hand.

This is a community need. We lose families yearly to other programs with better facilities, or some just drop baseball entirely. Our practice facility at HMS last year was useless for practicing fielding. In games players are blindsided by how a 90-ft diamond plays, because they haven’t had proper practice facilities. It's demoralizing.

Maybe if we had better baseball fields when my boys were younger they wouldn't have switched to lacrosse. With 4 children it was too difficult to have to drive a long distance to participate in a decent baseball program.

Though the Hereford Zone is an area blessed with wide, open green spaces, its children go without the necessary field and athletic facilities. If small corners can be carved out and fitted in other Baltimore county communities for adequate recreation fields, then certainly the Hereford Zone, with its abundant bounty, can manage to do the same.

As a youth baseball coach for several years, I am acutely aware of the lack of 90 foot diamonds in our area, relative to other counties in the state. I wholeheartedly endorse this proposal.

This isn't a huge transition. The field would still be usable for other events at other times. Otherwise, too much wear and tear is being placed on the high school field.

It's a shame that the only 90' diamond available to the 13 and up age group in the Hereford area also has to be shared with the JV and V teams. This is long overdue.

I have lived in the Herford Zone for 15 years. I agree with eveyone; this is long overdue.

The Hereford Travel Baseball Program appreciates everyone's support to this important cause. Unfortunately, last night HZRPC rejected our proposal for funding the new 90' diamond. We are considering whether to make a new proposal and we appreciate your continued support.
