SUPPORT THE LANDLORD IN OUR REQUEST TO STOP THE REMOVAL OF THE NEDBANK ATM IN SONPARK SHOPPING CENTRE, MBOMBELA.
NEDBANK confirmed their intention to remove their ATM located in Sonpark Shopping Centre, along the R40, on 31 March 2025. The Landlord has made numerous requests and provided various reasons why this ATM should not be removed, without any success from Nedbank.
This petition aims to implore the bank to reconsider its intention, based on the impact this will have on the greater Mbombela community.
Why we believe the NEDBANK ATM should remain in place:
- The NEDBANK ATM plays a vital role within the community & contributes towards the overall economic development within the area
- The locality of the NEDBANK ATM:
- Ensures that consumers, especially mother's, are safe while making use of the ATM
- Essential for the convenience of shoppers, business owners and employees within the Sonpark Shopping Centre
- Easily accessible and conveniently close to Rob Ferreira Hospital, Nelspruit Primary, Hoërskool Bergvlam and Lowveld High School
- Favorable location for travelers from other provinces who attend the annual Innibos National Arts Festival
- Reinforces NEDBANK'S commitment to the community & future residential developments within the area
With NEDBANK announcing their formal intention to remove the ATM from Sonpark Shopping Centre, this created a huge concern for existing consumers and business owners within the shopping centre. Should the NEDBANK ATM be removed, there will be no NEDBANK ATM located within the main residential area and will consumers be forced to make use of the NEDBANK ATM'S located within the CBD areas. (Crossings Shopping Centre, Bester Brown Centre, Promenade, Ilanga Mall etc.)
We plead with the community to please support us and add your signature to this petition before 30 March 2025, which will be forwarded to NEDBANK, to request them to reconsider this drastic action before 31 March 2025.

We use this ATM on a daily basis, it is the most convenient one in Nelspruit. Please don't close it.
As a bussiness owner in Sonpark - the ATM is very necessary for the centre, as it is currently the only place for Customers to draw cash, we beg Nedbank to reconsider, and n0ot remove the ATM
As the Landlord, this is my drastic plea for Nedbank not to remove the NEDBANK ATM
Nedbank already has too few ATMs available in the area and this causes issues for the community as I am always getting asked where the closest ATM or branch is. This is a problem and besides safety concerns at drawing cash in unfavourable places, Nedbank runs the risk of losing clients because of the unavailability of services and assistance in this regard. Please leave the ATM as is.
