This is a petition that is as straight forward as it gets! NAU students are frustrated and fed up with the parking limitations on campus. Why should we get hit with fines upward from 50 dollars for parking on North campus, South campus, Cline library, or anywhere else? I'm all for walking and being green, but many students do not have the time to wait for a bus or walk across campus to get from one class to another or for various other meetings, or activities. We pay good money to attend school here, including high prices for parking permits, only to be allowed to park in certain lots and sometimes only at certain times. This petition is to allow for a single parking permit for students, for one flat rate to park on campus. This does not have to eliminate Teacher parking spots and lots, as they do need places to park too. However, the freedom to choose where to park, whether it be on North campus, South campus, or anywhere in between seems only fair for those who would invest in the permit.
