In Tesula, OK a 7 year old girl was forced to go home after the school deemed her hair inappropriate. She, as many other natural hair black children, are told that their hair is considered unprofessional. The school claims hairstyles like dreads and Afros are "faddish". Would they turn away a white girl with a french braid? Would they turn away a white boy with his hair four inches long? Just because our hair is kinky and grows up doesn't mean it's ugly, unkempt, or ridiculous. Black hair has been growing as such for thousands of years, it is impossible to be a fad. Let's take a nation wide stance in saying that we, once and for all, should depoliticize black hair. Show support for the cause to gain 1 million votes.
