We believe there's a need for a safe, designated swimming area at Lake Nantahala, ideally located at the Rocky Branch Access Area. A public beach on Lake Nantahala would be a tremendous asset to the Nantahala Community, providing a venue for families to get together, picnic, swim, and fish. It would also promote tourism by providing lake access for all those visitors who don’t own a boat and cannot afford to rent one. A public beach may even encourage real estate development, home sales, and business development in the community, since it increases the value of the whole area.
