WE THE UNDERSIGNED enjoy a variety of activities at the unique grass beach of Tohickon Boat Access. However, use of this beach has been made more difficult due to the location of 14 recently planted trees. While we all appreciate the importance of trees, we respectfully ask that the Park consider moving six of them (which we have marked with pink ribbons) to the western end of the beach to open up this space as it used to be.

Certain people have already volunteered to help move them when the time comes.

I have been in communication with park representatives to discuss the placement of these trees. We are currently evaluating the site logistics to ensure that the proposed relocation can be accomplished safely.

The level of traction this petition has gained demonstrates a shared commitment to preserving the utility of our local waterfront. I appreciate the willingness of our community to advocate for a thoughtful relocation of these trees.

Every year more and more people are using the Tohickon launch area. By planting all of those trees so close to the launch area it has only created more congestion. Moving some of the trees, just to the west of where the trees are now is a perfect spot for them. Once they mature that would be a great spot for picnic benches under them. Picnickers will have a great view of the lake from there and there will then be plenty of room for all of the water craft users to launch their equipment. The large tree near by is not doing well. It won’t be long before that one has to come down. By moving the trees to that area you will already have a tree started to replace the large one that is dying. All visitors will benefit from change, which is how it should be.

Concerns include: Access to water for users partaking in activities with large equipment: wind surfers, paddle boarders, etc.

I have been a frequent visitor for forty years and hope this simple solution will keep this lovely spot a place where the variety of activities can continue to be enjoyed for many more years.

This would make access much more straightforward and convenient.

I'm concerned that my equipment will be damaged and that my access to the water will be limited when the lawn area is busy.

Why ruin a good launch

I also would volunteer to help move the 6 trees in question if needed.

I support the petition for relocating the 6 trees.
