During coach Eric Brown's 30 years of service to the Suffolk County Community College baseball program, he has coached and mentored over 1,000 student athletes. His selfless devotion to helping each of them to achieve a degree at Suffolk County Community college, advance to a 4yr college, and learn how to work as part of a team should be recognized.

He has on many occasions sent 80+ emails per semester for each player to 4yr college coaches in efforts to help them have an opportunity to attend a 4yr college. This is in addition to thousands of phone calls, any time of day or week, and more efforts to help his students, every year.

He was rightfully honored and elected into the JUCO Baseball hall of fame as head coach of Suffolk County Community College, has led his teams to the JUCO College World Series on several occasions, and maintained Suffolk County Community College Baseball as a perennial playoff team.

Coach Brown doesn't fully measure success as success on the field, he takes greater pride in seeing his students achieve academic success, develop true sportsmanship, and mature into adults.

For his 30yrs of tireless and selfless dedication to his students, we hereby petition Suffolk County Community College Selden NY to name the baseball field at Suffolk County Community College Selden NY campus as "Coach Eric Brown Field".

Stony Brook University, another nearby SUNY school, named it's baseball field "Joe Nathan Field". So there is precedent allowing SCCC to name the field.

Funds will later be raised independently to obtain a plaque to be mounted at an appropriate location at the field, along with a dedication ceremony.
