Bill Haskett has touched thousands of lives over his years of service to Katy ISD and the Katy Community.

Be a part of the effort to honor Bill by naming the newest Katy Junior High school after him by adding your name to this petition.

This will be part of a package that we'll submit to the KISD naming committee. Our submission needs to be to KISD by September 10, 2020, so make it your goal to get this done by Sunday, September 6, to give us time to assemble everything. Better yet, take a minute and do it right now!

And this will be helpful: before clicking on the "Sign Petition" button, please enter something into the comments - something Bill did that affected you, or something you know about him. It will help to also add how you might be affiliated with Katy ISD, the city of Katy, or Bill Haskett. (It can be anything - former student, friend, position in KISD, position with the City of Katy, anything.)

Important . . .

After you sign, you'll get an email that you can forward to others. (If you don't get it, check your Junk Mail folder). Please forward that email to everyone you can think of, with a note that it's urgent they sign the petition right away. That's how we'll really make this work.

And share it on Facebook too.

If you have a good long story about Bill that we can include in the package, please email it to: [email protected].

We're looking forward to all of us celebrating the naming of this new school after this good man.

Help make it happen.

Now Carla Berry Staats- When our Class of 82 Officers left campus for lunch without permission, the way Mr Bill Haskett handled us taught me so much about leadership. We always knew we could trust his kind leadership.

Bill was principal of Katy HS when my daughter began high school. It was a tough time for her, and Bill showed compassion and went above and beyond to help make her transition to KHS a smooth experience. We will be forever grateful for how he helped her.

Mr. Haskett has been a true asset to Katy ISD and the community. Being a 1980 graduate of Katy High School, a former student of Mr. Haskett and a 31 year employee of KISD, I think it would be an honor for our district to have our new high school named after such a respected and honorable man.

81 graduate of KHS. I am currently a High school teacher/Principal with 31 years of experience. Mr. Haskett is one of the educators I have tried to be like. Students first. Thank you Sir.

Class of 92. Current Katy ISD employee. Mr. Haskett was a great principal that truly engaged with the students of KHS. If it wasn’t for him, I would’ve graduated from Taylor due to an unforeseen move the summer before my senior year. He went to bat for me and enabled to graduate with my friends and classmates.

I worked at Katy High School early in my career. Bill was the principal there and was always supportive of both my students with special needs and me. My program was new to the school (back in the ‘80s), yet we were fully accepted and respected on campus, thanks to Bill’s lead.

No, not that Bill Haskett. I'm glad to support one of us getting recognition for something positive.

I spent my first 2 years of high scool at Northbrook High and my last 2 at Katy High. Mr Haskett was my principal at Northbrook. Over the summer, my parents purchased a home in the Katy area. Coincidentally, Mr Haskett moved to Katy as well. He was the only staff member, from Northbrook, with whom I had a good relationship. He helped me transition to Katy, which was suffering from resentment of the huge influx of people into their tight nit and close community. I appreciate the help and guidance from Mr. Haskett at both schools. For all those he’s helped through the years, he deserves a school named after him.
