I am honestly stunned to share that the research funding has been secured and a vaccine development project is moving forward. This is entirely the result of your commitment to our rats. Please stay tuned to the group for updates on how this work progresses.

It's time that we pet rat lovers join our voices to put pressure on the scientific community to have a mycoplasma pulmonis cure / treatment that eliminates this pathogen completely from a rat's system or at least put it to a dormant state, wether that be in the form of a vaccine or effective antiobiotic, so our beloved rats can live longer and healthier lives, be protected from such infectious and life threatening disease ..... please sign and share!!! Join the facebook group and invite more voices for the cause: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2200597900184948/

PS: if between 250 000 to 500 000 rat lovers would give a single 1$ , we could fund a vaccine research for pet rats for their mycoplasma , a lack of togetherness is all there is to it...

Rats are more intelligent than cats, yet they have no proper preventative care. These little guys have paved the way for saving so many human lives via sacrificing their lives in research environments ... can we not pay them back, just a little?

Every domestic rat is born with this hidden killer that comes out and attacks them when they get older, stressed, or sometimes for no reason at all. A preventative vaccine available for them at birth would be an amazing way to extend the lives of so many of these dearly beloved pets.

There is zero excuse for why this cannot be researched! Previously scientists created a strain of rats without myco by delivering lab rats via C-section while the mother was submerged in alchohol, but why can we not have a modern attempt at actually curing this disease?

Please stop this awful disease that is killing so many pet rats and breaking so many hearts! Antibiotics are not very effective, because it always comes back or by becomes chronic. Please help us the rat owners! Thank you!

I would gladly pay to have my pets vaccinated! Murine mycoplasmosis is a devastating disease and affects every rat to some extent. Please help. If it is within our abilities, it is unethical to withold this life changing treatment.

I currently have a rat named Sophie who will be three in October next month . For the past few monthsshe needed doxycycline and baytril medicationfor her myco issue. It would be so great to have a vaccine so I don't longer have to keep these wonderful companions on medication for the rest of their lives .
