A cure for one is a cure for all.

Retroperitoneal liposarcoma is a rare form of cancer which has a high recurrence rate despite the best efforts of the best oncologists in the world. Recurrences are routinely resistant to the current forms of treatment. More funding for research is needed to discover new avenues to target this form of cancer. It is also possible advances in liposarcoma research could shed light on other types of cancers making a cure for one, a cure for all.

Please sign and share this petition to support a research grant by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to help fund a new research project for liposarcoma.

Proposed title: Understanding How the Immune Response to Cancer Stem Cells Shapes the Development of High Grade Disease in Retroperitoneal Liposarcoma

Principal investigator: Dr. William Tseng.

The proposed project will take 5 years and is estimated to cost $2,000,000.

Please approve this research. My husband had retro peritoneal liposarcoma and unfortunately lost his life to the disease. More knowledge and research needs to be done to save others from the pain, suffering and loss of life like my husband.

My mum has a liposcoma that keeps coming back. 5 years later & 5 operations survived, she’s now waiting for another operation to remove 2 growths

I am a Pleomorphic Liposarcoma warrior. Because we are rare, we are often forgotten. I also had breast cancer ( at the same time) fortunately much more research is done for it.

Please approve funding for Sarcoma research. This cancer continues to be a beast to battle. My story is long and similar yet different to so many others. Misdiagnosed initially, chemo that didn’t work, immunotherapy that worked miraculously but damaged my thyroid and optic nerves to the point I’m significantly visually impaired. On and on it goes.

I had retroperitoneal WD liposarcoma and lost my left kidney. I’d appreciate and possibly benefit from a study as with this cancer there are limited treatment options and data on this type of cancer. Thanks!

This is a devastating disease to the individual, their family and caregivers. Often the treatment plan is “let’s see if this will work” and more research is needed.
