The owners have agreed to repaint the building and remove the orange accents. This change happened only because you chose to speak up for the character of our town. I am still stunned by what this group accomplished together.

Final supporters
We are so fortunate to live in a town like Dover, Ma. There are few towns left in America that have the charming and quaint feel that Dover has. This is due to the fact that corporate American chains have not invaded our town the way they have all others. This is what makes Dover so UNIQUE and we must hold on to this and try our best to preserve the special look and feel of our town for generations to come. As many of you know there is a Dunkin' Donuts going into the historical train station building. It is currently under construction and there are 8 different shades of brown (to represent the coffee colors) that have been painted on the front side and the trim has been painted orange. Bright orange awnings are soon to be erected along with large lit up Dunkin' Donut signs out front and on the roof. We feel this is a disgrace and is offensive to preserving our town's special charm and history. We are asking the owners to please be respectful to preserving the look and feel of our town. We are simply asking them to paint the building one shade of brown, and to please leave off the orange trim and awnings. We do not feel like we are asking too much of them. If you feel the same, we implore you to boycott this store unless they comply with our request.

I am honestly overwhelmed by the momentum behind this because it was never my intention to lead anything this large. The credit for this movement belongs entirely to the neighbors who value our town history as much as I do.

The building need not be a marketing tool covered in signage and garish orange awnings, local residents know that DD will be housed there. Please consider the community and our desire to preserve the understated elegance of our town center.
Agree completely. When you find even more DD trash on the roads, pick it up and deliver it to the Dover DD site but don't buy anything.
big mistake! doesn't this building have 5 assigned parking spots? or has the town OK'd the highway dept lot? watch out dover church and nursery school...
should not be a dunkin donuts in Dover. Cars turning left will cause mammoth traffic jams.
Please keep it understated and blend it in with the existing surroundings. No bright colors or big logos please. I am sure this has been done with other DD elsewhere. There are so few places like Dover remaining in New England.

I believe that the old train station is an historic building, so: how could the siding have been changed so drastically and the varied color-shades are so out of key with Dover Center. From the meetings I attended Dunkin' Donuts was supposed to keep the awnings and signage to a minimum! Indeed the building is now offensive beyond belief; much more garish than most Dunkin' Donuts in surrounding towns!
