Dear Master students within the International Master in Psychology at Uppsala University, with this petition, we want to show, that changing the title from "M.SoSc., Main field of study: Psychology" to "M.Sc. in Psychology" does not only concern a few of us, but rather impacts all of our careers. Whether this means applying for a P.h.D. or specializing within the field of psychology, a title that accurately represents the research focus of this psychology programme will be important, especially outside of Sweden. Because other universities like Lund already award the title "M.Sc. in Psychology", we ask the university to change the title, to meet the needs of all students and not just the needs of those, planning to stay in Sweden.

I have been reading your messages about how this title affects your career path and it is clear that many of you are facing the exact same frustration. I never realized how many people were struggling with this outside of Sweden until you all started speaking up. Please know that I am working to make sure our collective concerns reach the right people at the university.

I am honestly overwhelmed by the momentum we have built together. This progress belongs entirely to all of you who cared enough to speak up for our futures.

Finally someone is doing something about this. Really hope the university listens to us.
Need this for my phd applications abroad. It is really frustrating how much this holds us back compared to students from Lund.
make it happen already. other unis in sweden have done it so why are we still stuck with this outdated name
Trying to apply for jobs in Germany and the current title is just confusing for employers. Please update this to M.Sc. so we have a fair chance.
This is common sense. International students deserve a degree title that actually makes sense on a global CV.

Ridiculous that I have to explain my degree title in every single interview. Change it to M.Sc. Psychology.
