URGENT : We Only Have One Week
Grove Road & Grove Place are small residential roads squeezed between two busy shopping areas, Churchfield Road and
Acton High Street
- There is no parking apart from stop & shop / loading on the High St
- There is paid for parking or stop and shop / loading on Churchfield
Road
Despite this, the roads have the most relaxed parking controls
resulting in Businesses & Shoppers using this road for
parking FOR FREE, and residents not able to park on their
street, but HAVING TO PAY for a permit.
When surveyed by the Council residents asked for existing or longer hours, but were treated the same as the rest of Acton Central which does not have the same competition for parking.
When the Town Hall, Swimming Pool & Library are redeveloped it will get worse.
The Council are looking at requests for zone changes this week, but have limited resources, we need to highlight how important this is to us - please sign, putting in your postcode. We will not contact you if you ask for no contact in the comments field.
I have had trouble finding a space on occasion. What the map doesn't show is that Grove Road is a one way narrow uphill street. It's hard to reverse into a tight space with various impatient van drivers impatiently waiting to get past. I can't imagine how busy it will be when the swimming pool is open again. It's terrible that we pay money for a permit and we're squeezed out by people who can park elsewhere.
