Georgetown University is well known for its beautiful campus. In order to maintain the university's pristine look, cleanliness and trash maintenance are important. Students, faculty members, visitors, employees, and others who pass through GU's campus must be aware of keeping the campus clean. An important way to support this effort of the Georgetown community is to ensure that there are an adequate number of trash cans on campus. As Georgetown University students, we have noticed that there are certain areas of the campus that do not have trash receptacles. This lack of trash cans can make it difficult, time-consuming, and inconvenient for GU community members to dispose of their trash appropriately. This increases the risk that individuals on campus will litter and degrade the quality of the campus environment. We are writing this petition to request the installment of another trash receptacle on campus. We would like to see a new Big Belly Solar Compacter placed in an area on campus that will be determined by your votes (see our blog www.moretrashcans.blogspot.com). By signing your name to this petition, you confirm that you would like to have another trash receptacle installed on the GU campus. This improvement to the campus will not only make your life more convenient, it will improve the quality of your community here at Georgetown.
