Mock Petition for Conversion from Irrigation Non-Expansion Area to Active Management Area pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes 45-439.C.
Petition to show support from registered voters within the San Simon groundwater Sub-Basin of the following –
A. In the event the director of the Arizona Department of Water Resources designates the San Simon Groundwater Sub-Basin a Irrigation Non-Expansion (INA), the undersigned registered voters of the San Simon Groundwater Sub-Basin –
a. Do oppose the Irrigation Non-Expansion (INA) of the San Simon Groundwater Sub-Basin.
b. Would vote to have the (INA) designated as an Active Management Area (AMA) pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes 45-439.C.
We, the undersigned, citizens and qualified electors of the state of Arizona, County of Cochise, residing in the San Simon Groundwater Sub-Basin as identified an Attachment “A”, respectfully demand that the following proposed Conversion from Irrigation Non-Expansion Area of the San Simon Groundwater Sub-Basin to an Active Management Area, shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the state of Arizona, County of Cochise, Residents of the San Simon Groundwater Sub-Basin for their approval or rejection in no less than 60 days and no more than 90 days once called by the Cochise Board of Supervisors.
For clarification, all registered voters within the Bowie, San Simon, and Portal precincts within Cochise County reside in the San Simon Groundwater Sub-Basin.

At this time, I oppose any corporate control of ground water in the San Simon Valley.

I am a land owner since 1981 near Portal, 40 acres. I am completely against this INA or AMA.
