We, residents of Miromar Lakes, are formally requesting the Master HOA to dissolve and/or remove the mandatory technology fees associated with the community-supplied broadband internet and cable television that are currently charged quarterly to each residence. Summit’s services have proven to contain apparent flaws that directly result in repeated system failures and unacceptable performance standards that are clearly inconsistent with the homeowners needs and rightful expectations. We are no longer willing to pay for inferior services that breach the obligations of the Master HOA to render a quality product in exchange for the relative compensation in which they receive.

Updates

February 19, 2022

The Master HOA remains silent on our requests while we continue to pay for service that fails us daily. Send an email to the board members right now demanding they end our contract with Summit. Post a link to this petition on your neighborhood Facebook group to ensure every resident knows about our collective action.

February 19, 2022

We hit a real turning point today as more neighbors join the call to end these mandatory fees. Now is the time to email the board members directly and demand an open meeting to address our complaints.

Something needs to be done. This is not a one off situation but a systematic problem. Yesterday cable and internet were out for 9 hours. Additionally, I continue to get error messages on a regular basis and frequently the voice does not match up with the person talking. These situations require a channel change. Finally, months later there is still no procedure from Summit regarding payment of Comcast bill when promised by the end of January. They now act like they are not sure what we are talking about. There is zero reasons why I should purchase Comcast when I already pay a technology fee.

More downtime in 3 weeks than 16 years with Comcast. Also promised rebate for money spent with Comcast starting Jan 1. Why is there no process to achieve this?

Any reasonable amount of due diligence would have unveiled that Summit was not capable of delivering the full service package. That is not to say Comcast is perfect by far and from my previous corporate experience I know they are not easy to deal with. That leaves the only reasonable answer is to give us as both homeowners, eventually community owners and consumers the “choice’ of either or. Monopolies are a thing of the past especially in this technology sector! Dave Carey

Considering the turmoil, missed deadlines and minimal transparency during the infrastructure construction, I chose to hang on to Comcast until the Summit option stabilizes. I’m not sure if or when that will happen, Being forced to pay the technology fee while this all plays out is not right!

The tv comes on and goes off at will. Hate the remote no lights. Also you have to press buttons just to watch tv .

Miromar residents should not be forced to pay for inferior technology service.
