Mills 58 is a newly renovated 200,000 square-foot mill building located at 58 Pulaski Street in Peabody. Through owner Ed Greeley's vision to revive the 19th Century mill building to become a landmark destination for the City of Peabody and through 2+ years of renovation efforts, we have created a truly unique experience for visitors of all ages and interests.
Today, over 70 unique small businesses now call Mills 58 home, including a brand new food hall, multiple antique, artisan and furniture restoration shops, fitness facilities, photography studios, a craft brewery, a co-work space and even a day care center!
In an attempt to better sustain the already-established business that has been severely impacted by this pandemic, and to further enhance Mills 58 as a landmark destination, the next best use would be to add apartment style living.
Adding more like-businesses would have a negative effect on our existing tenants. Adding residential would provide more local commerce - more haircuts at the salon, more pizza and coffee sold at the Eatery58 Marketplace, more antiques purchased and overall a more sustainable community.
This project is not a new construction, only interior renovation. We would like to dedicate empty space in Building A (the building furthest from the main Pulaski St.) to apartment-style living and need your support.
By signing this petition, you will be voicing your support to City Hall of our efforts to add apartment-style living to our already-existing footprint at Mills 58.

The groundswell of enthusiasm for the residential expansion at Mills 58 has exceeded my initial expectations. This level of engagement demonstrates that our neighbors recognize the importance of creating a more sustainable community through local commerce.

Ed Greeley has a wonderful vision and is breathing life into a forgotten locale. His passion for this project shines through. Everyone in the building really cares and supports one another attributing to great working and hopefully living environment. The neighborhood will benefit from this initiative.
Because added living space would increase flow to the existing businesses at Mills 58, as well as contribute to a vibrant sense of place for the surrounding neighborhood, I am in favor of this. I am a current tenant at Mills 58.
This would be great for my daughter who is legally blind. So she could be close to her childhood home but independent at the same time.
With the impact the pandemic has had on small businesses, this project is a wonderful way to stimulate Peabody's economic growth! The renovation of Mills58 has been exciting to watch. It has gone from a run down, dirty dump to a unique small business hub! Adding residential units to Mills58 will only help Peabody's small business owners, who ARE the backbone of our economy. This would be a win win for Peabody
This is almost literally ‘in my backyard’ and I love the revitalization. They have proven success with a retail re-do on half of it, so yes to filling the other half with tax paying, business supporting tenants. City dwellers moving out of the city aren’t always looking for the 3 bedroom with a yard. Mid to high end apartment living is highly highly desirable in suburbs- just look at rantouille st in Bev.
This makes sense rather than adding to an already congested downtown - the Mills is the perfect location for housing!
I really need an affordable place to live away from my parents. I am a divorced, disabled, grown woman with no income living with my parents. I’m also creative. This is my ideal community/landing space. Please make it a reality.

This is a great opportunity to both provide needed housing on the North Shore and to stimulate the local economy beyond Mills58. The location is perfect, with lots of parking, proximity to public transportation, and many wonderful businesses and services in the surrounding communities. This proposal has the potential to create a "town within a city," and bring new life to this area of east Peabody and Danversport.
