The board officially dropped the Hotwire proposal today. We stopped this contract because we stayed organized and refused to accept a deal forced upon us. Keep checking the community updates to ensure they do not try to bring this back under a new name.

Millbridge HOA sent out a letter stating they were thinking of getting Hotwire installed throughout the Millbridge Community. The letter states as follows.. Dear Millbridge Homeowners,

This was going to be the subject of our newsletter, Millbridge Update, this coming month. We realize that not everyone reads the newsletter, and we want to ensure that everyone is up to date on what the Board of Directors are negotiating on behalf of our homeowners. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about this notification, please email millbridgeupdate.com.

In August, and on September 13th, the Board of Directors met with Hotwire to discuss the possibility of installing Fiber-To-The Home services throughout the community. Hotwire Communications is an industry leader that specializes in providing multi-Gigabit connectivity, IPTV, home automation, and wireless services to developments like Millbridge. This would involve every property receiving High Speed Internet consisting of dual Fiber strand runs to each home for redundancy. That fiber will supply symmetrical guaranteed 500 x 500 Mbps speeds through dedicated Fision Fiber and one EERO Pro 6E Mesh Triband Router supporting 100+ devices. Wired speeds will be up to 10 Gigabit. No Data Caps will apply.

Hotwire’s Fision Fiber Optics is a 10 Gig network end to end, which allows them to provide customers with dedicated non-shared bandwidth. This architecture guarantees 99.999% service uptime.

The community would also receive a complimentary Community Amenities Package, Concierge Level Service consisting of a dedicated Account Manager and a Community Portal. Wi-Fi will be available at the Clubhouse, Fitness Center, Pool Areas, Pocket Parks (where electricity is available), Tennis and Basketball Courts, and our management office. Phone Service will also be available at the Clubhouse and Pool Areas.

If approved, this service (High Speed Fiber Internet) will be billed to each homeowner as part of our semi-annual assessments and is expected to cost under $49 per month. Negotiations are still ongoing. At our request, Hotwire will conduct in-person/zoom meetings on-site to discuss their proposal and answer any questions our homeowners may have.

Individual homeowners will be able to purchase additional services such as TV, Voice and Security Services directly billed through Hotwire. These services are not mandatory, and homeowners may choose to remain with their current providers, or any other provider. The internet services will be supplied to each home as part of a contract negotiated by the HOA.

Construction of the fiber will have a minimal impact on our community, is expected to take approximately ten months to a year to complete and will not involve billing to any of our homeowners until completed. Your home will receive services as soon as they reach your property, and that service will not be billed until the completion of the entire community. Stay tuned for additional information as we continue to negotiate with Hotwire.

Thank you!

The momentum behind this petition proves that our neighbors are not willing to accept forced utility changes without a real vote. Send an email to the board members today to demand a town hall meeting about this contract. Post the link to our petition on your neighborhood Facebook group right now.

We have lived this install nightmare in our old neighborhood when AT&T ran their fiber throughout. Busted utilities to homes, Mis matched grass seed patch to existing Bermuda and took WAY LONGER than promised. Total mess

I’m a single mom and a widow and there is no way that I can afford to pay that fee in addition to the things that I’m barely able to afford right now. I am completely against this.

If this goes through we will be forced to move. Hotwire internet is not secure, if we don't have our own ISP, the Government will not allow my husband to work from home. Please do not let this pass.

I oppose this initiative as it doesn’t align with open market principles. Companies should compete fairly with existing providers. The current offer is already about twice as expensive as what I’m currently paying.

I work from home and need to have reliable internet service. I don’t want to change from the provider that has been delivering excellent service for the last 11 years and I don’t want to pay for a service I won’t even using. An internet provider should be a personal decision and not a community mandated choice.

I do not support this. We should be responsible for our own utilities and it is not needed at the pool and common areas - those areas are meant to get away from technology and spend time in physical activity and with families

I am not interested in getting services from Hotwire

We do not want Hotwire, that speed is 50% slower than our current provider.
