STR proposal:
1) Minimum Stay 2 nights (no more single night stays) - this at least allows for travelers to come for the weekend.
2) 1 BR Unit Maximum 4 people (2 people per bedroom and living room). - allows for couples to sleep in bed and sleeper.
3) 2 BR Unit Maximum 6 people
4) Implementation of STR Committee to enforce rules and regulations (STR owners holding other STR owners responsible). Will work with the board as a non-voting member(s). Will be the designated governing body for short term units.
5) Enhanced set of Rules will be signed by each unit owner/unit manager registered to do STR operations. You must opt in by signing. No exceptions.
6) Rule’s enforcement procedure:
1st Time Warning
2nd Time Fine ($100)
3rd time 1 month suspension (30 days) from short-term
7) Use the increase in transfer fees to hire 1 overnight security guard whose sole responsibility is to walk the floors during quiet hours.
8) All STR owners and managers (both) must make their contact information public to the community, with the unit they own/manage.
9) Transfer fee increases from $15.00 per adult to $35.00 per adult is justified due to the wear and tear expenses of the common areas and that additional Security staff will be hired to police the STR Units (overnight shift to walk the halls and ensure no one is behaving poorly).
10) Close monitoring on short term rental units through the committee.

The groundswell of support proves that we are done tolerating the chaos caused by these absentee rental owners. The board can no longer pretend this is just a minor issue when so many of us are demanding real enforcement and security. We have the momentum now to force these negligent operators to finally follow the rules.

Good start. Hopefully this actually gets enforced and owners start acting like neighbors.
It should be mandatory for them to post their contact info. I had an issue at 2am and had no idea who to call. Ridiculous.
35 dollars is nothing compared to what we pay in headache fees. Stop letting people treat our home like a cheap hotel.
Exactly. Enough is enough. Keep the parties out of our building.
The overnight guard is a must. These rentals are trashing the hallways and nobody takes responsibility. Make them pay for the security.

Finally some rules. Tired of not knowing who is staying next door or being woken up at 3am by loud music. This needs to happen now!
