The administration has finally confirmed that Miami Dade College will implement a spring break moving forward. It is a relief to know that our collective request was taken seriously and honored. I encourage everyone to enjoy this time off when it arrives.

"Let's go on vacation this spring break!" Is a phrase that MDC students never get to say because of the simple fact that Miami Dade College is one of the very few colleges that do not offer a Spring Break vacation. This doesn't make a whole of sense considering every student from elementary school to college has this privilage. So why doesn't MDC offer a spring break vacation? No one knows. If you are within that majority of students at MDC who wish they had a spring break vacation then please sign this petition.

The stories coming in from fellow students highlight how much this break is needed for mental recovery. I am currently organizing these signatures to present them formally to the administration so they understand the scope of our exhaustion.

I want to be able to spend time with my friends when I fly home 2000 miles during my spring break!
Even broward college gets a break not to mention elementary school. I fee like this break is not only important for the students but also the professors and faculty.
My family travels for spring break each year and I never get to go with them because we don't get it off at MDC. #unreasonable
We all deserve a break from the stress as other school reasonings for spring break , yes we finish earlier than other schools but we also begin earlier .
im sevearly deprived of sleep and need a week to recuperate please give us a brake some of us are work and go to school full time

Can't believe this isn't a thing. I feel so exhausted from my classes and all I see are my friends from other places have their week off
