For the past five or so years, us students in the Northport School District have been told countless times that we are going to have off two weeks for holiday recess in the 2019-2020 school year. Upon looking on the school calendar this summer, we have come to a realization that we are not receiving the full two weeks off, which is ridiculous and unfair. We feel that we have been robbed of those extra 2 days off, considering we used no snow days last school year, and a couple of years ago we did not have a full week for spring break, just 2 days in March and 2 days in April. In addition, our district is one of the few not receiving the full two weeks of holiday break. We have multiple programs, departments, teams, and other organizations part of our district that are very high performing and well recognized thanks to all of the hard work done by staff and students. Without this, Northport High School and the Northport-East Northport School District would not have the name and reputation that it does now. For all of this hard work, our staff and students deserve to have those two extra days off.

I am a junior and honestly we just want our time off back.
Give the kids the break they earned.
Give us our days back!!! We earned them.
ridiculous that they took these days away from us. northport needs to fix the calendar.
