There is a movement by a group of Lower Genesee Lake residents to permanently lower the water level of Lower and Middle Genesee Lakes. This would be accomplished by further lowering the weir dam elevation level that removes water from the watershed of the 2 lakes. As a point of reference no water is currently flowing into the weir dam. If the residents of Lower Lake are successful there would still be an outflow of water from the 2 lakes which would further lower the lake elevation from where it is now.

By including your electronic signature you are stating that you own property on Middle Genesee Lake and are for widening the current outflow but AGAINST any effort to further lower the water level of Middle Genesee Lake and it's watershed.

Petitioner: Fritz Frommgen 37038 & 37102 Genesee Lake Rd. Oconomowoc, WI 53066

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many neighbors stepped up to protect our water levels. This momentum belongs entirely to you because I never imagined so many people would join me in this fight.

Having been on the lake for more than 20 years, the highs can be high, but the lows can be lower. It is unthinkable to allow more water out, just to allow a few boaters to to rip up the lake. It is very short sighted to allow water out that you cannot ever get back. Keep the level where it is.

My husband and I are both OPPOSED to widening the opening at all, much less lowering the weir dam elevation level. Middle Genesee Lake has changed dramatically in the nine years we've been here. There is much more vegetation growing in the lake and the lake appears to be warmer, which to me seems like a direct effect of lower water levels over the past few years. Middle Genesee Lake is a lake, not a pond. Any attempt to lower the level feels detrimental to both human and water/wildlife. It may also have an economic impact on property valuations if man made attempts to adjust this water level over compensation and we end up with a much smaller body of water. We don't support any additional work or costs to change the nature of this lake. 36747-51 Hollyhock Woods Dr.

Lowering the dam level from it's current level would be very detrimental to Middle Genesee Lake residents and guests.. As in the past years when the level was low, it was impossible or at least very difficult to launch a boat, much less keep a boat at our dock, which is at the shallow sandy end of the lake. The level the lake is at right now is perfect for swimming, boating, fishing, etc. Widening the opening makes more sense to accommodate a faster flow of water when flooding becomes a problem, as what occurred this summer on both lakes. I think we can find a solution that will satisfy most lake residents.
