We aim to change some school rules we have issues with;

  • The handing out of uniform slips without telling students
  • Different punishments for the same actions
  • Not allowing minimum make up for self conscious students

Please feel free to add more issues you have in the comments, all signatures are appreciated and there is an anonymous box you can tick when leaving your name.

3 slips and an after school for not wearing my blazer under two coats and a big scarf because "I'm representing the school so I need to be easily identified" ... Under my jacket....... Good one

some students are singled out with wearing makeup. out of the 1500 students in the school, i guarantee at least half of the students wear makeup yet in after school detentions there are like 7 people? also the humanities team are having a competition to see who can hand out the most uniform slips

I was in afterschool detention and mr.messenger was taking it, he saw I had a cartilage piercing in and after telling me off for it emailed Mrs.Ryan to come in and tell me off again for the same thing, resulting in another email home and more complaints from the school

I don't wear makeup but I really want this addressed for girls who need it. My form tutor totally agrees with this too. She said she knows how we feel because she suffers from acne and wears foundation everyday.

Used to go to MGGS and it was ethic ridiculous the teachers forced self conscious people to remove their make-up in front of the class. Also were told to come up to the front of the class and the students were told to point out what was wrong with our uniforms e.g rolled skirts, make-up, rolled sleeves etc.

I totally agree with all of this.

If my school did this, many girls would feel uncomfortable coming to school and be unhappy there. That does not create a happy learning environment. Yes, some make up can be over the top as girls should be reminded they should be relatively modest as they are representing the school but banning make up completely is dangling girl'a insecurities in front of them throughout the school day when they should be focusing on their subjects.
