Hello class of 2025! My name is Melinda Burgin and I am so excited to begin our journey together. I think I would make a great Senator because I am organized, detail-oriented, and my experiences in my high school community have prepared me to take a leadership role in college. As a Student Leader, Editor of the Yearbook Committee, and Social Media Manager of the Environmental Club, I gained valuable experience in managing a diverse team of fellow students, and in organizing both virtual and in person events. Through these activities, I also managed the complexities of communicating with the administration of my school, and led the presentation of new ideas from the students to the administration. One successful project with the Environmental Club resulted in my school being the first public school in the city to consider adopting a new and more environmentally-friendly search engine.
