Doesn't it make sense to;

*Spend a lot less money on uniforms.

*Keep the money spent, here in Reno.

*Make it easier for students to get their uniforms.

*Be able to try them on and not feel rushed.

*Feel more comfortable in the uniform.

*In the event that you need a new uniform, it's easy

The purpose of this petition is to get all the cohorts on board and behind the request being made to the nursing faculty, to change the nursing uniform.

Currently the uniforms come from Dove Apparel in Southern California.

They are expensive, uncomfortable, take a long time get, and we are sending our money out of Reno to California.

The proposal is to start getting uniforms from Lelia's here in Reno.

*It will be easier, the shop is right here in Reno.

*Less expensive, $50 vs $100

*Faster turn around (2-3 day for embroidery), and that's it

*3 pant styles to chose from,

*Size range from XXS - 5XL.

*If you need one last minute (weight gain/loss, pen left in pocket) it's easy!

*We kept it local; local school supports local business.

This may not affect you directly, depending on when you are graduating, but think of all your fellow cohorts to come, lets help them anyway we can!

Updates

October 21, 2014

The administration has acknowledged the volume of interest regarding the uniform transition. I am currently finalizing a formal proposal to present to the nursing faculty during our next scheduled meeting.

Not sure if this option was explored when deciding upon the uniforms for the program. Would be interested to hear the reasons why Leila's was passed upon.

LOVE IT!! There are even tons of places to get them embroidered here in town! Idk if Leila's does that.

Dealing with the Dove company has been quite unsavory. Considering the amount of money students put forth for our nursing uniforms, it is my opinion that the Dove company operates in a very unprofessional manner. Their uniforms do not arrive in the time frame they promise. Some of our students' uniforms were put on back order with no notification from Dove. The sizing is inconsistent, the fabric is unbearably synthetic, and the garments require pressing after every wash. For almost $100, we wait too long for our uniforms, only to be terribly dissatisfied when they actually arrive. I think that this proposed switch will have a positive impact on the students of the MJS Nursing Program.

I tried to order a new shirt and it never came; lost in the loop for returning cohorts. I would have loved to have a second shirt but dealing with Dove was a nightmare. I'm all for buying locally and being able to go pick up a shirt or pants when I need them.

Yes!! Having to ship everything from Cali is such a headache when we have shops right here. Plus local stuff is way faster.

The price difference alone is crazy. I spent so much on my first set and they feel like sandpaper. Definitely time for a change.
