Please join the support for a casino in Matteson. The casino will be a part of a mixed-use development at Market Square Crossing that will occupy the former property area of Carson Pirie Scott. The casino will be a regional entertainment destination to include a hotel, and multi-purpose events space. In addition to the casino, plans for a golf dome, sports facility and a family entertainment center are being proposed at the site. The casino will be a significant source of jobs, and tax revenue for the entire Southland region as well as contributing significant funds to local and regional initiatives aimed at supporting education, sustainable local projects and other preventive health support organizations. I just looked at the screen and saw the number hit one thousand signatures and I honestly had to blink a few times because this is just wild. It is really starting to sink in that people actually want this transformation for the old Carson property and the potential for the whole Southland region is suddenly feeling so much more tangible.

I really did not think this momentum would hit quite so hard but here we are and it makes me feel like things might actually change for the Southland. It feels wild to look at the site plans and realize people are finally seeing the same vision I saw months ago when this was just a bunch of ideas on my laptop.

I am not a fan of gambling, however, the economic development that this can bring along with the other community supportive businesses such as the mall, hotel, event space, sports and recreation options, I am in favor of those. Let's rebuild the Matteson and Southland communities!
I support Matteson leadership's effort to get this Casino. We need the revenue. Matteson is the perfect geographic location between major streets and highways (i.e. I-57; I-80; Lincoln Hwy./ Rt-30; and Harlem Ave.) giving this casino easy access from all directions.
I totally support the possibility of a casino/hotel in Matteson. Even though I’m in the neighboring suburb. It’s an eye sore to drive down Lincoln Hwy, and there’s no business.
My family lived in Matteson for 9 years and still own our property there. I think this casino is the best thing that could ever happen to Matteson. This will bring so much business into town. Matteson needs these JOBS!
This is something that we need in our community to help rebuild the community up. Help with much needed and deserved jobs. And most importantly help with funding more money for our children's education. Where they can attend school in the community which where they live. Also it will bring revenue to the community.
Matteson would be a perfect fit for a casino location.

Instead of everyone going to Indiana we need the revenue here in our town. People think it’s bad news but they don’t realize the jobs it will create. Not to mention casinos are known for security and not a problem.
