The ability to operate slot machines will increase the purses of Illinois thoroughbred racing, thereby saving the jobs of Illinois horsemen, saving the lives of Illinois horses, as well as saving the jobs of current track employees and creating new jobs, as well.
Additionally, taxes paid by the racetracks from the casino revenue will benefit the ailing Illinois budget - preserving precious and necessary services and programs to the residents of Illinois.
