The Labour-run City Council want to turn a large section of Manzil Way Park, the only public open space on the Cowley Road, into a builder's compound for two years. Heavy lorries accessing the site would destroy a row of trees and churning up the grass. The famous Cowley Road Carnival, which relies on the Park, would also be seriously impacted by the proposed compound. Local Green Councillors have proposed alternative arrangements which would protect the Park. We need to keep our few public open spaces public and open!
